Pippin' on La Brea

New CD

The David Leech Quartet is happy to announce the release of our new CD, entitled "Pippin' On La Brea". It consists of nine tracks composed by David Leech and Tom Hamasu, and features the regular members of the quartet, plus two guest artists.

About the CD

The music for the CD was recorded in January and March of 2024, and it was released in September. All of the tracks are original tunes.

"All Our Children" was composed and arranged by bassist Tom Hamasu. Tom dedicates his composition to the children of Gaza.

The other eight were all composed and arranged by myself. Four of them are dedicated to various members of my family Grand-niece Zora, daughter Letitia, grandson Nigel, and son, Jonathan. Title song "Pippin' On La Brea" is dedicated to restaurant and jazz club Pip's On La Brea and it's owner, Derrick Pipkin.

The album was released through CD Baby and is available for downloading from Amazon. It is also available for streaming from a number of platforms, including Spotify, Pandora and YouTube.
